Primrose Hill Picnic
Saturday saw our first Action Against Hunger meal of the year. Given the recent outbreak of Spring, we decided to make it a picnic. Huge thanks to Alex, Anoula and our very own Chrisoula for making it all happen. Also good to see Simon (another one), Mark, Matt, James and Dave there. This event was supported by Ford Focus as part of the Focus Global Test Drive, with Ford having already donated $10,000 to the charity. Well done Ford!
Greek Goat’s Milk Balls with Mint, rocket, spinach, watercress, unearthed® prosciutto crudo and a dressing with olive oil, honey and a few mystery ingredients
So, as you’re all foodies we’re sure you want to know what was on the menu.
- Chorizo and Tomato Risotto – a recipe that Silvena Rowe put together for us last year.
- Fig and goat’s cheese salad – with quartered figs, unearthed® Greek Goat’s Milk Balls with Mint, rocket, spinach, watercress, unearthed® prosciutto crudo and a dressing with olive oil, honey and a few mystery ingredients.
- Chorizo and Tomato Salad – cooking chorizo, tomatoes, unearthed® Feta, parsley, spring onions, sherry vinegar and garlic.
Plus a whole array of unearthed® meats, olives and the ever-popular ricotta stuffed cherry peppers, all washed down with Pimms (Anoula’s addition of Ginger Beer worked a treat, I’ll leave you to identify all the fruit…) and sherry.
The venue was the lovely Primrose Hill in London. Probably my favourite spot for a view of the city without feeling too immersed in it. Not the warmest it has to be said, but the Pimms meant the non-drivers amongst us weren’t feeling it too much!
We’ll be holding plenty more Action Against Hunger and unearthed® events. If you’re interested in getting involved, stay in touch on this site and at www.actionagainsthunger.org.uk. Good food, good company and some money raised to combat malnutrition around the world. What better way to spend an afternoon.
